About the Jiang Lab

The Jiang Lab is interested in the pathophysiology of fatty liver diseases, including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic hepatitis. Ongoing research focuses on understanding the roles of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism in pathophysiology of liver injury. The lab leverages cutting edge technologies including single cell transcriptomics, spatial technologies, lipoprotein-based lipidomics, and hepatocyte-directed RNA activation and inhibition to study the critical pathways in the disease pathogenesis. The team utilizes disease-specific animal and microtissue models to interrogate emerging hypothesis and evaluate novel therapeutic strategies. Ongoing studies are supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) and Gilead Science Foundation.
