Pain Management and Anesthesia Programs and Services
Our services include perioperative anesthesia care (before, during and after surgery), critical care, and the management and relief of pain. Anesthesia services begin before your procedure with Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) to prepare you for the day of surgery.
Pre-Admission Testing
The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) center at BIDMC is designed to help ensure that patients are in their best medical condition before surgery, and to help educate patients about the perioperative journey.
Critical Care
The Anesthesia Critical Care division provides state-of-the-art care for the hospital’s surgical critical care patients 24/7. The division is recognized as a leader in the field for point of care echocardiography and ultrasound, as well as clinical research in acute lung injury.

At the Arnold-Warfield Pain Management Center and community locations, our physicians offer compassionate, comprehensive care and cutting edge treatments for patients with chronic and complex pain to return you to a fuller more active life.
