When you call our appointment/referral line, you will speak with an administrative assistant who will coordinate an appointment with the appropriate surgeon.

Please note that this phone line is not for emergencies. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or your local emergency response team.

Referring Physicians

All of our surgeons welcome direct inquiries and referrals, and can be contacted directly to facilitate consultations and inter-hospital transfers to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Visit our the Meet Our Team page for a list of our surgeons.

Insurance Referrals

You may be required by your insurance company to obtain a referral from your primary care physician in advance of your appointment.

Co-payments

If your insurance plan requires a co-payment at the date of service, it is the expectation that you will be ready to pay your co-payment during the check-in process. We accept major credit cards.

Please bring the following to your appointment

Your insurance card
Your BIDMC hospital card (if you have one)
Your co-payment, if applicable
A list of medications that you are currently taking
All information regarding your current diagnosis, such as MRI / CT scans, doctors', notes, pathology reports, etc.

Bilingual representatives are on staff. Please let us know if you would like one present at your appointment.
