Nutrition - Infection Laboratory

Our laboratory has been active for many years and the research conducted here has been aimed at making parenteral and enteral nutrition therapy safer. We devise animal models and experiments to simulate patient conditions to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms by which nutrition support can be optimized to improve patient outcome. Our laboratory also performs experimental chemistry investigations that may also improve the delivery of nutrition support from common ways of giving nutrient infusions for intravenous and/or enteral administration. Our goal is to bridge "bench to bedside" research in making nutrition therapy safer and more effective for the patients we serve.
