Review our current research studies.
The Center for Virology and Vaccine Research (CVVR) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) aims to promote research and education activities related to virology, immunology, infectious diseases, and related disciplines with a focus on basic, translational, and clinical research.
Led by Dr. Dan Barouch, the Center consists of primary and affiliate faculty and focuses primarily on the development of vaccines and therapeutics against infectious, oncologic, degenerative, and other diseases.
CVVR is involved in groundbreaking research in global infectious diseases, such as HIV/SIV, Zika, COVID-19, influenza, and tuberculosis, as well as pandemic preparedness. CVVR researchers lead advancements in leading-edge technologies, including molecular biology, bioinformatics, immunotechnology, delivery platforms, and gene editing.
CVVR also has a renowned clinical trials unit, which performs early phase and first-in-human studies of novel preventive and therapeutic approaches for infectious diseases as well as later phase clinical trials. More information on actively enrolling research studies can be found on our website.
