We treat patients who have decreased strength, endurance and mobility as a result of sprains, strains, sports-related injuries and chronic injuries. The goal of physical therapy is to slowly return the patient to optimal health. A large part of a physical therapist's program is directed at preventing injury and loss of movement. Some physical therapists consult with individuals and fitness clubs to develop workouts that are safe and effective, especially for people who already know that they have a problem with their joints or their backs. The physical therapy profession has kept pace with rapid advances in science and technology to provide the most effective patient treatment possible.
