The Innovation Grants Program is the Center’s signature initiative. By design, the Program aims to identify and develop future innovators and create value for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center patients, and the healthcare delivery system. The Program provides the opportunity for investigators and staff across BIDMC to design, implement, and evaluate innovative projects in their departments and operational areas. Our ability to offer opportunities and mentorship in this growing field of research allows BIDMC to retain some of the most talented young clinical faculty while at the same time sustaining the culture of innovation that has differentiated BIDMC from many of its peer organizations.

Travel GrantsTravel Grants

The Center offers competitive Travel Grants three times per year to offset the costs associated with travel and registration for national meetings. The grants are open to all medical trainees (residents, fellows, pharmacy residents, nurses, social work, etc.), physicians, nurses, pharmacists, or other healthcare professionals affiliated with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Grant awardees present the impact of their work on healthcare delivery science at national meetings. Eligible research must reflect innovation in healthcare delivery, a rigorous method of evaluation, and meaningful measurement of success. Travel Grant awardees also present their work at the Center’s Work in Progress Conferences during the year.

Healthcare DS ConferencesHealthcare Delivery Science Conferences

The Center convenes two monthly conferences for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center staff, trainees, and clinicians from across the institution. At the Healthcare Delivery Science Grand Rounds, both senior and junior researchers present ongoing works in the field that may still have methodology questions but are well on the way to completion. At the lunchtime Work in Progress sessions, established researchers and scientific advisors come together with fellows and junior faculty to discuss issues facing investigators and workshop early stage ideas and methods.
