Center for Healthcare Delivery Science
The Center for Healthcare Delivery Science is dedicated to understanding why and how we deliver the medical care that we do with the goal of providing more reliable, high quality care to our patients. Our research interests reflect three broad areas of inquiry and opportunity: (1) the contribution of machine learning to clinical care, (2) understanding and improving the value of care and (3) ensuring equity. For each of these areas we are driven by four fundamental questions:
Evaluating innovation – does it work?
Risk prediction – who should we worry about?
Quality improvement – how do we know?
Cost – are we creating value?
Our vision is to build and study healthcare system innovations throughout the BIDMC, its affiliated hospitals, and the larger Beth Israel Lahey Health System and to translate that learning to generalizable knowledge that contributes to changing the standard of how healthcare is delivered across the country. We look forward to sharing our progress with you.
