Dr. Yousef graduated from the Medical College of Sohag University (Egypt).  Following this, he earned his Master of Science (MSc) and Doctoral Degrees (PhD) in Orthopaedic Surgery from Sohag University. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at same university. He also holds a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Experimental Surgery and Microsurgery from the University of Pavia (Italy).

 

Previously, he fulfilled the role of assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Sohag University in addition to his registry of the Italian medical license and his professional practice in different Italian hospitals. He also completed one-year fellowship training in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at the Plastic Surgery Department, University of Milan, Policlinico Multimedica Hospital (Italy) as well as one-year Spine Surgery Fellowship at the Spine Surgery Unit, Orthopaedic Surgery Department, University of Milan, Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi (Italy). Before joining Ara’s lab, he completed one-year orthopaedic research fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital (Baylor College of Medicine).  He is working on in-vivo wrist fracture healing assessment in addition to studying different therapeutic modalities to enhance fracture healing.
