Christina C. Wee, MD, MPH is Senior Deputy Editor of Annals of Internal Medicine and Vice President of the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Wee is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (part-time) and adjunct faculty in the Division of General Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC).

Prior to joining Annals and ACP, Dr. Wee was a clinician-investigator at BIDMC where she held several leadership roles including serving as the Division’s Associate Chief for Research and Director of Obesity Research, Program Director for the Harvard-wide General Medicine Fellowship Program, and Associate Program Director leading research curriculum for BIDMC’s internal medicine residency program. She also served on the Board of Directors of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC.

Dr. Wee's prior research focused on obesity, weight stigma and health disparities, and patient preferences and medical decision-making around obesity treatment. Her work leveraged a combination of research methods including survey research, development of epidemiologic cohorts, clinical interventions, and analyses of large complex national data sets.

Her research has been funded by several foundation and NIH grants and included an R01 funded multicenter longitudinal cohort study to understand patient preferences, decision-making and outcomes associated with bariatric surgery, and a second R01 study examining health disparities posed by obesity and race.

A nationally recognized investigator and mentor, Dr. Wee has served on numerous national scientific committees and was inducted into the American Society for Clinical Investigation in 2012. She is also the recipient of several regional and national awards, including the 2011 Midcareer Research and Mentorship Award from the Society of General Internal Medicine, the HMS Barger Award for Excellence in Mentoring, and a NIH K24 Mentorship award.
