Safe Patient Handling is dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives full access to care regardless of disability or mobility.
Safe Patient Handling is dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives full access to care regardless of disability or mobility. While safely transferring patients in every situation is a top priority, the Safe Patient Handling team is committed to responding to all requests in a timely manner, ensuring prompt and gracious service everywhere at the medical center.
As a leader in Safe Patient Handling, BIDMC began its pilot program in 2008 and is always expanding its capabilities. To date, ceiling lifts have been installed over all inpatient beds, a majority of post-anesthesia care unit beds and emergency room beds, in many areas of radiology and in the bone density room. Additionally, electric portable lifts are available on most inpatient units, in the emergency department, in radiology and in ambulatory departments. Electric sit-to-stand lifts, manual standing aides and electric low-high patient lifts are also available in many departments.
If you have any questions about Safe Patient Handling at BIDMC or concerns about specific transferring needs for an upcoming appointment, please feel free to email our team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
