Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is renowned for excellence in patient care, teaching, biomedical research and community service. BIDMC is a tertiary care institution located in the heart of Boston's medical community serving more than half a million patients annually from Boston and communities north, west and south of the city, as well as a national and international referral base.

If you are a medical student entering your final year and are interested in an elective course at BIDMC, please read on.

We are a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School (HMS) which does offer one of the largest visiting medical student programs in the country. To be considered for enrollment in a BIDMC elective course, students must submit application materials to the HMS Office of the Registrar.
