Office for Diversity, Inclusion and Career Advancement

ODICA develops, implements and evaluates programs for increasing the numbers and satisfaction of faculty and trainees from underrepresented minorities in medicine (URMM).

The Office for Diversity, Inclusion and Career Advancement (ODICA), in close association with the Center for Education, was founded in January of 2015 to help further the mission of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, which is to provide the best possible care to all of its patients, irrespective of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual identity, sexual orientation, gender, or age.

ODICA develops, implements and evaluates programs for increasing the numbers and satisfaction of faculty and trainees from underrepresented minorities in medicine (URMM). ODICA is the successor of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, which was created in 2008 to affirm and support the institution’s commitment to the underrepresented community of students, house staff, and faculty, which in turn reflects the medical center’s commitment to all of the people we serve.
