The Carl J. Shapiro Department of Orthopaedics is committed to educating and training the next generation of orthopedic specialists. We offer exceptional training programs for fellows as well as a research internship for undergraduate and graduate medical students. Our goal is to not only provide clinical training and medical education, but to also build careers and develop future leaders.

Opportunities for Medical Students
We provide undergraduate and graduate medical students the opportunity to participate in a research internship every summer at BIDMC. The internship helps students to achieve a fundamental understanding of clinical and basic research, while also providing valuable insight into their potential career choices.
