How To Apply


Applications to the BIDMC Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program are accepted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Applicants may apply to any number of the following tracks:

  • Traditional Hematology/Oncology Track
  • Hematology/Oncology and Hospice & Palliative Medicine (HOHPM) Track
  • Hematology Track

The application deadline is August 1. Regrettably, applications received after this date cannot be reviewed.

Select applicants will be invited for interviews, which are held September-October annually.

BIDMC participates in the National Residency Match Program.

Application Requirements

All Tracks
  • Dean's letter from medical school
  • Medical school transcript
  • Department of Medicine letter from residency training program
  • A minimum of (2) and a maximum of (3) additional letters of recommendation
  • USMLE I, II, and III scores
  • Personal statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
Supplemental Application Requirements for the Hematology/Oncology & Hospice and Palliative Medicine Track

In order to assist us in best understanding your needs and aspirations, please complete the following supplemental application question:

How would specialized training in the Hematology/Oncology & Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HOHPM) track best suit your individual career development goals? (300 words or less)

This is required of all candidates applying to this track. Regrettably, candidates not completing this aspect of the application process will not be considered for this track.

Supplemental Application Requirements for the Hematology Track

This is required of all candidates applying to this track. Regrettably, candidates not completing this aspect of the application process will not be considered for this track.

BILH-Wide Mandatory Vaccination Policy
To protect our patients, colleagues and communities, BIDMC is requiring all clinicians (including fellows and residents), staff, volunteers and contractors, regardless of role or location, to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and influenza. If selected for the Fellowship, individuals will be required to be vaccinated as a condition of employment.
