Women in Emergency Medicine

WEM group out at dinnerThe BIDMC Department of Emergency Medicine supports women in emergency medicine within our department as well as the surrounding community. Our Women in Emergency Medicine (WEM) group is comprised of female attending and resident physicians interested in fostering professional relationships, mentorship and community outreach. Our WEM group meets throughout the academic year for educational journal clubs, social events and volunteer opportunities. 

Female physicians at BIDMCThe BIDMC WEM group has started a mentorship program with Simmons University, which is a local women's university located in Boston. Our BIDMC female attending and resident physicians are paired with pre-medical students to provide educational support, medical school application guidance and clinical shadowing experiences.
