On March 8 at Club Colette, the annual Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Palm Beach Celebration gave a closer look at the scientific and medical advances taking place within the hospital. The program was co-chaired by Carol F. and Howard M. Anderson and Midge and Tom DeSimone; Carol F. Anderson is chair of the Medical Center’s Board of Directors and Tom DeSimone is chair of the Trustee Advisory Board. Both couples are longtime friends and supporters of BIDMC.
The event showcased the work of three physician leaders: Elliot Chaikof, M.D., Ph.D., chair of the Roberta and Stephen R. Weiner Department of Surgery; Robert Gerszten, M.D., chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine; and Alvaro Pascual-Leone, M.D., Ph.D., chief of the Division of Cognitive Neurology and director of the Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation.
Kevin Tabb, M.D., chief executive officer of BIDMC, gave an update on the Medical Center’s recent accomplishments and activities, including BIDMC’s proposed partnership with Lahey Health and New England Baptist, Mount Auburn, and Anna Jaques Hospitals to create the region’s premier integrated health care system. The event was hosted by Emmy Award‒winning former CBS-Boston arts and entertainment critic Joyce Kulhawik. Take a look at the photo gallery below for images from Palm Beach.
