March 5, 2020
On Thursday, March 5, 2020, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center welcomed guests for 2020 Vision event. The evening provided an opportunity to reflect on how the institution excels as an academic medical center and the strategic steps we are taking to elevate BIDMC to the next level.
Pam Lesser, chair of the BIDMC Trustee Advisory Board, welcomed attendees and introduced Peter J. Healy, president of BIDMC. Healy shared his strategic vision, rooted in the three pillars of the Medical Center’s academic mission; the BIDMC Experience; and campus transformation, which includes our new inpatient building on the West Campus.
President Healy then led a lively panel discussion with members of BIDMC leadership who have been integral in shaping our vision for 2020 and beyond: Elliot Chaikof, MD, PhD, chair, Roberta and Stephen R. Weiner Department of Surgery at BIDMC; Alexa Kimball, MD, MPH, president and chief executive officer of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians; Marsha Maurer, DNP, RN, senior vice president, Patient Care Services and Cynthia and Robert J. Lepofsky Chief Nursing Officer at BIDMC; and Mark Zeidel, MD, chair, Department of Medicine at BIDMC. Matthew Consigli, chair of the Leadership Board, closed the evening.
