The Boston Red Sox support the Campus Transformation Fund
The 2017 Boston Red Sox settled into their summer home on Yawkey Way this month. But the front offices have been busy all winter ensuring they have the best team on the field and the best medical care right down the street. In January, the Red Sox pledged to support the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Canter Campus Transformation Fund. “BIDMC has been our partner since 2003, and their doctors and medical staff take care of our fans at Fenway Park every home game,” said Red Sox President Sam Kennedy. “We have a vested interest in the hospital's success, and are proud to support their efforts to provide expanded workspace that better allows for the innovation of its researchers and the improved care of its patients.”
This commitment to the Campus Transformation Fund is instrumental to advancing BIDMC’s ambitious plans for building technologically advanced spaces that are commensurate with our mission to provide extraordinary, compassionate care to our patients. This generous gift will enhance our ability to deliver our renowned care in the clinical areas that will most directly benefit our patients. “I am grateful that the Red Sox have chosen to support our innovative vision for the future of patient care in this meaningful way,” says BIDMC Chief Executive Officer Kevin Tabb. “We are extremely proud of our wonderful affiliation with the hometown team and look forward to continuing the programs that have made our relationship so productive.”
At the core of its responsibilities as the Official Hospital of the Boston Red Sox and Red Sox Nation, BIDMC runs Fenway Park’s First Aid Stations, where staff treat thousands of patrons each year. In addition, the medical center and the Red Sox work together to sponsor landmark community programs, including the Red Sox Scholars and the 9/11 Blood Drive with the American Red Cross.
