When you call our appointment/referral line, you will speak with an administrative assistant who will coordinate an appointment with the appropriate surgeon.
Please note that this phone line is not for emergencies. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or your local emergency response team.
All of our surgeons welcome direct inquiries and referrals, and can be contacted directly to facilitate consultations and inter-hospital transfers to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Visit our the Meet Our Team page for a list of our surgeons.
You may be required by your insurance company to obtain a referral from your primary care physician in advance of your appointment.
If your insurance plan requires a co-payment at the date of
service, it is the expectation that you will be ready to pay your co-payment
during the check-in process. We accept major credit cards.
Please bring the following to your appointment:
- Your insurance card
- Your BIDMC hospital card (if you have one)
- Your co-payment, if applicable
- A list of medications that you are currently taking
