Psychiatry Ambulatory Service

About Our Psychiatry Clinics

Psychiatry SessionThe Psychiatry Ambulatory Service actively collaborates with primary care physicians at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to provide psychiatric consultation.

The service consists of a General Psychiatry Practice as well as specialty clinics in:

  • Geriatric Psychiatry
  • Reproductive Psychiatry and Women’s Mental Health
  • Cancer Wellness
  • Neuropsychology Assessment
  • Advancing Services for Psychosis Integration and Recovery (ASPIRE)

Patients aged 19 or older are first seen for a psychiatric consultation. Following the initial consultation, recommendations for treatment are offered to both the patient and the referring physician. Recommendations take into account the clinical assessment and the clinical resources necessary for effective care. Common treatments within our clinic include psychopharmacology and time limited psychotherapy. If more comprehensive or intensive treatment is indicated, referrals will be made to the appropriate clinical setting in the community.

Our clinical staff includes staff psychiatrists, BIDMC Harvard Psychiatry residents, neuropsychologists and clinical psychologists.
