Our Relationship with Referring Physicians

BIDMC's gynecologic surgery team works closely with community-based OBGYNs, primary care physicians, and other specialists to provide consults and ensure safe surgical treatment for indicated gynecologic problems. Our surgical assessment team reviews all referrals to ensure that patients are matched with a surgeon who is skilled in their indicated procedure, and will work to find the patient the earliest possible appointment.

We are available to serve as a second opinion or to assume surgical care of patients. In all cases, we will serve as consultants and will return the patient to your care once their second opinion or surgical course is complete.
