Neurology Support Groups


Epilepsy Group

A six-week outpatient psychoeducational group is offered in the Behavioral Neurology Unit (BNU) for adults who have been formally diagnosed with a chronic seizure disorder. This group addresses issues such as: how the diagnosis is established, increased social skills, self-esteem, and coping with medical illness. The group is facilitated by our chief social worker.

The fee for the group may be covered by some insurance plans.

Group for Adults with ADD

A six-week psychoeducational group is offered in the Behavioral Neurology Unit (BNU) for adults who have been formally diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (ADD). This group addresses issues such as: how the diagnosis is established; impact on school, family and relationships; the use of medications; and compensatory strategies. The group is facilitated by our chief social worker.
