BIDMC Department of Medicine
The Department of Medicine provides a range of clinical services, including general internal medicine and all of the subspecialties of internal medicine, from cardiology and gastroenterology to infectious diseases and rheumatology.
In addition to delivering clinical care across a growing network, the Department of Medicine is engaged in leading-edge biomedical research to help better understand and treat a variety of health conditions. The Department is also proud of its strong educational mission, training the next generation of doctors and health care leaders through rigorous residency and fellowship programs.
Our Divisions
There are 20 Divisions in the Department of Medicine. Eleven involve clinical and research activities, and 9 are primarily focused on biomedical research. All of them are engaged in innovative teaching and mentorship.
Allergy & Inflammation
The Division of Allergy and Inflammation specializes in the diagnosis, testing, and management of allergies, asthma and allergic immune system disorders.

Cardiovascular Medicine at BIDMC is one of the nation's leading centers of heart care, research and medical education.
Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism
This division provides expertise in the full spectrum of endocrine disorders, including pituitary, thyroid, adrenal diseases, diabetes and obesity.
