New Members Will Help Guide BIDMC’s Mission
BOSTON – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) announced today that three new members have joined the hospital’s Board of Trustees: Matthew D. Consigli, Young J. Lee, and Kenneth R. Leibler. Additionally, Ann E. Berman has been named chair of the board.
BIDMC's board is made up of dedicated professionals with a wealth of personal and professional experience and a shared commitment to the hospital’s mission to create healthier communities — one person at a time — through seamless care and ground-breaking science, driven by excellence, innovation and equity.
“With the challenges facing healthcare today, it is so important for an academic medical center to have a board that can help drive us forward in alignment with our mission,” said Pete Healy, President, BIDMC, and Divisional President for Metro Boston, Beth Israel Lahey Health. “I look forward to collaborating with Matt, Young and Ken, and thank them for their willingness to serve on the Board of Trustees. I am also thrilled to welcome Ann to her new role as BIDMC’s new board chair.”

Berman, Chair, BIDMC Board of Trustees. “Serving as board chair is truly an honor, and I am excited to step into this new role.”
In addition to the new Trustees, BIDMC announced new members of the hospital’s Trustee Advisory Board, including Anne Marie Boursiquot King; Charles Li, MD; Linda Li; Sidney F. Queler; and Aravinda R. Souza. New members of the hospital’s Leadership Board include Samuel M. Gebru; Ashley Bickford Karger; Melanie Manning; Theresa Mock; Luis F. Rojas; Shephali Sardinha; Alexandra Shalom; Peter Tarsa, PhD; and Carolina Trujillo de DiazGranados.
About BIDMC’s New Trustees
Matthew D. Consigli
Mr. Consigli is the President of Consigli Construction Co., Inc. Under his guidance, the company has grown from a local contractor to one of the largest construction management firms in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and USVI. Mr. Consigli serves on the Board of Directors for the Consigli Foundation, is Vice Chair of the College Advisory Board for Babson College and is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and The Roxbury Latin School. He served as chair of the BIDMC Leadership Board from 2018-2022 and on the BIDMC Leadership Board Nominating Committee from 2022-2025.
Mr. Consigli holds a Master in Business Administration from Babson College and a Bachelor in Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Young J. Lee
Mr. Lee is a Partner and Co-President of Audax Private Equity, based in Boston, where he helps oversee the strategic direction and operations of the firm. Prior to joining Audax, Mr. Lee was with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc., and J.P. Morgan. Additionally, Mr. Lee is a Vice Chair of the Quality/Experience and Patient Care Assessment Committee at BIDMC and serves on the Chartis Health Equity Advisory Board and the Advisory Board for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Lee is also actively involved with Harvard University, currently serving as a member of the Harvard College Fund Executive Committee and the Joint Committee on Alumni Affairs and Development.
Mr. Lee earned his AB degree cum laude from Harvard College and Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Kenneth R. Leibler
Mr. Leibler is a financial services executive and founding partner of the Boston Options Exchange. Over the course of his career, he has held leadership roles at several major financial institutions, including serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Boston Stock Exchange, President and Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Financial Companies, and President of the American Stock Exchange. Mr. Leibler has served in a range of board leadership roles including as a Trustee of Putnam Mutual Funds from 2006 to 2024, where he was Chair from 2018 to 2024. He has also served on the boards of Eversource Energy, ISO New England, Ruder Finn, and the Investment Company Institute, and served as Vice Chair of the BIDMC Trustee Advisory Board from 2009-2012.
Mr. Leibler graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in economics from Syracuse University. He received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1999 and was named Trustee of the Year by With Intelligence in 2024.
