Matthew Larkin Joins BIDMC as Chief Operating Officer

BOSTON – Matthew Larkin has joined Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Larkin will oversee key strategies for directing and administering operations across the medical center in support of BIDMC’s mission to provide extraordinary care where the patient comes first supported by world-class education and research.

“Matthew is an exceptional, thoughtful leader who is an outstanding fit for this important role,” said Pete Healy, president of BIDMC. “His depth of expertise in health care leadership will be an invaluable asset for our organization. We are thrilled to welcome him to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.”

Larkin has more than 18 years of leadership experience in health care. Most recently, he served as COO of Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire, where he led many complex projects, including the initiation of a major radiation oncology project, and the development of an in-house ambulance service. Larkin previously served as senior vice president of operations for the Tufts Medical Center Physicians Organization.

Larkin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in health care administration at Stonehill College and Master of Business Administration degree from Boston University.
