About the BIDMC Youth Jobs Program

The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Summer Youth Jobs Program is a paid internship that runs for 6 weeks during the summer. Those who are selected will work from Monday-Thursday for 32 hours a week.

Interns work in their assigned departments to gain real world skills while making a difference in the community. They also meet weekly as a group to attend various department tours and interact and meet with BIDMC colleagues.

Some departments who have hosted program participants in the past include:

  • Radiology
  • Clinical Trials Research
  • Materials Management
  • Clinical Engineering
  • Head and Neck (Otolaryngology)
  • Emergency Medicine

This is a paid internship.

The BIDMC Summer Youth Jobs program prioritizes under-resourced Boston Public School high school students. Applications are taken by referral only from our community partners in this work. We do not accept direct applications.

Referrals come from partners such as:

  • ABCD
  • Boys and Girls Club of Boston
  • Roxbury Tenants at Harvard
  • Sociedad Latina
  • Boston Private Industry Council

If you are a public high school student from Boston and want to be considered for our program, please connect with the PIC (Private Industry Council) contact at your school or speak with someone at one of the organizations noted above.
