About Our Facilities
Translational MRI Core
The division oversees the operation of a research dedicated 3 Tesla MRI scanner. This GE 3T scanner is available for research use by members of the division as well as investigators at BIDMC and external research users.
Preclinical MRI Core
The division also oversees small high-field systems for research on specimens and in animal models of disease. A 9.4 Tesla Bruker horizontal bore system in close proximity to a HyperSense DNP Hyperpolarizer is located on the BIDMC East Campus on the 7th floor of the Dana Building.
Cardiac MRI
Cardiology maintains a 3 Tesla scanner for research and clinical imaging of the heart and major vessels. This facility supports a major research effort in Cardiology to develop and apply cutting edge methods for cardiac imaging.
