Facilities in the Laboratory for Functional Cartilage Imaging include the equipment necessary for cartilage sample preparation, maintenance, and testing. These include cylindrical core-bits for obtaining cylindrical cartilage samples, a vertical microtome, culture NMR tubes, a cartilage press, biohazard hoods, and a CO 2 incubator.

Facilities for studying the samples through NMR spectroscopy and imaging are available in the Center for Basic MR Research; clinical studies are done at the BIDMC Radiology MRI Division facilities.
