Meet Our Residency Program Leadership


Brett C. Young, MDBrett C. Young, MD
Program Director
Dr. Young is an alumna of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Ob-Gyn Residency. She feels honored to give back to the residency program and the department through her role as program director. Dr. Young is a member of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division and an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. She serves as an Associate Editor of the journal NeoReviews and as the Director for Maternal Fetal Medicine Services at our community affiliate at Mt Auburn Hospital.

Dr. Young graduated medical school at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, completed residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as the Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She assumed a formal role with residency program leadership in 2018. Dr. Young has an academic focus on medical education particularly around innovations to improve multidisciplinary communication and a clinical expertise in hematological disorders in pregnancy.

Huma Farid, MDHuma Farid, MD
Associate Program Director
Dr. Farid is a member of the OBGYN Generalist Practice as well as Rotation Director on Labor and Delivery. She completed her both her undergraduate and medical degrees at Harvard University, and her residency at the Brigham and Women's Hospital/ Massachusetts General Hospital combined OBGYN residency program. Dr. Farid's interests focus on colposcopy, healthcare disparities, diversity in medicine, and medical education.
