Salaries for fellows and residents are similar for all members of the Council of Boston Teaching Hospitals. Salary rates are adjusted annually to account for cost-of-living. Training conditions and work schedules follow the guidelines of the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Listed below are the current academic year salaries for 2017-2018 year:
|Post Graduate Year (PGY)
The program provides a wide range of benefits, including iPads for all new trainees, malpractice insurance coverage, on-call meal cards, short and long-term disability insurance, a variety of textbooks, and a generous educational allowance. The program also makes available the opportunity to purchase several types of health, dental and life insurance. Each fellow and resident is allotted 20 days of vacation along with 5 days to attend professional conferences. In addition, the hospital has a liberal leave of absence policy for employees (fellows and residents) who are new parents, require medical leave, or need to care for a seriously ill family member.
