Look and feel your best this summer with this diverse class that utilizes various equipment and demands everything you’ve got for 30 minutes!
A high intensity class that incorporates basic martial art kicks and punches with calisthenics, rope skipping, and stretching. Emphasis is placed on learning proper technique while improving conditioning and flexibility.
Designed to test limits, teach and provide a total body workout. Leaving you fit and motivated to take on the demands of life.
A concentrated specialty 30-minute class that will progressively change
week to week incorporating core, glutes, balance, stability, strength &
conditioning. 7/6-8/31. All Levels
Core Flow Yoga
This yoga class includes slow flowing yoga postures that synchronize breathing with movement for restorative purposes and core concentration. This class provides strengthening, balance and deep relaxation.
A powerful total body class incorporating weights, bodyweight, bands and
ropes. Bring your training to a new fun level. All Levels
A flowing style of yoga that integrates movement with breath to make for sequencing both vigorous and reflective.
A resistance training class focusing on enhancing muscle endurance by utilizing handheld weights, body bars, and exercise bands.
Pilates is designed to sculpt and strengthen the core muscles. Benefits
include enhancing your muscle tone, strength, flexibility and posture.
Tuesday Night Training (TNT)
Build total body strength and unleash greater power through a circuit that alternates weight lifting with body resistance.
A flowing style of yoga that incorporates carefully balanced sequences. The
form, movement, and breath are integrated. Classes are both vigorous and
Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international music and dance themes,
creating a dynamic, exciting, and energizing workout... a fun hip-swinging,
body-pumping, and booty-shaking way to get in shape.
Deb Brice has enjoyed teaching muscle conditioning classes at Be Well for 9 years. For the past 16 years Deb has worked at BIDMC as an administrative assistant with the Department of Neonatology. In addition to being a very busy mom, she volunteers for "cuddler" of NICU babies.
Teaches Vinyasa Yoga
Sarah Coombs has been practicing Astanga-based vinyasa yoga for over 5 years and received her 200-hour RYT certification under Mini Louriero of O2 Yoga in Cambridge, MA. When not teaching yoga, Sarah also works as a pediatric occupational therapist where she uses yoga and mindfulness with her clients. Sarah structures challenging, but progressive sequences that allow students to work at their own level with a focus on safe alignment. In her free time, Sarah enjoys traveling and knitting.
Linda Della Porta
Linda Della Porta teaches yoga at all levels in addition to instructing adapted yoga workshops. She received her yoga certification through the Kripalu center and has completed training in Forrest, Vinyasa, and Restorative yoga. Linda works as an occupational therapist at BIDMC and in her free time she volunteers in teaching yoga to women in transitional settings such as safe houses and detox centers.
Lucia Stein - Montalvo
Lucia Stein-Montalvo, a former injury-plagued athlete, began practicing yoga in 2013 and later received her 200-hour RYT certification from Frog Lotus Yoga International under Vidya Heisel. She is currently working toward a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, and finds from yoga a space for reflection and grace. Lucia encourages this sense in her students through classes founded on smooth transitions and deliberate, strength-building alignment.
Teaches Vinyasa Yoga and Pilates
Anna Grossman has been sharing her love of yoga with others for over 5 years. In her free time she enjoys Pilates, hiking, and cooking.
Teaches Anything Goes
Kara Jeter has been teaching fitness classes for over 15 years and loves the combination of cardio and weight training for a total body workout for all levels. Kara is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Health at Boston University. She enjoys running with her dogs and being outdoors in her free time.
Clare Viglione is a certified Zumba instructor with a long dance background in jazz, hip hop, ballet, and lyrical dance. Originally from San Diego, Clare has always been passionate about promoting health and wellness in the community and recently moved to Boston to pursue a career in child nutrition and public health. In her spare time, Clare enjoys baking healthy goodies, teaching Zumba and salsa, and exploring Boston.
Personal attention is what makes Tanger Be Well an exceptional place to
exercise and learn about health. In addition to the day-to-day support,
direction and advice you receive from the professional staff, you can
participate in a more formal, continual program called the Individualized
Exercise Program (IEP) at Tanger Be Well.
What is an IEP?
An Individualized Exercise Program (IEP) is a realistic and personalized
training plan developed to fit your goals.
Two Individual Appointments
You'll get two individual appointments with an exercise physiologist
spread over the course of 12 months:
Review your health history with an exercise physiologist
Be introduced to basic strength training exercises, cardiovascular
equipment, and stretches.
Ask your Be Well exercise physiologist questions that have come up
Learn more strength training exercises
Enhance cardiovascular program
How do I get started?
Become a member at the Tanger Be Well Center and make your first one-hour
appointment at the front desk.
How much does it cost?
Individualized Exercise Programs are FREE for members! If
you want additional personal training you may purchase individual packages.
Our workshops are generally one hour in length and offered during lunchtime
