Interventions to Address Sexual Issues

The big news here is not that there are wonderful and new suggestions regarding helpful interventions (unfortunately), but that the issue is being addressed and taken seriously. As I have written many times, concerns about sexuality and intimacy are usually not at the top of someone's worry list at the time of diagnosis or during active treatment, but they too often persist and become very important as life goes on.

ASCO has just released practice guidelines around interventions to assist with sexual concerns. It recommends that health care teams talk about sexual health and dysfunctions that result from their cancer treatment.
