The annual SABCS is underway. Since 1977, thousands of oncologists, surgeons, researchers, advocates, Pharma reps, and others have been gathering to hear all the newest research. . From a one-day regional conference, the Symposium has grown to a five-day program attended by a broad international audience of academic and private researchers and physicians from over 90 countries. You can be sure that there will be news, and you can be very sure that some/most/all of it will be exaggerated in the media reports. Yes, there is likely to be progress on some fronts, but there is not going to be a cure. Read or listen to any reports with both respect and a little cynicism.
