Celiac Center

Our hearts and thoughts go out to all those affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The Celiac Center at BIDMC is helping provide gluten-free food to food banks in the affected areas. We are working closely with our colleagues at the Center for Celiac Research and Treatment/Mass General, National Celiac Association, Gluten Free Fun, Celiac Community Foundation of Northern California and the Gluten Free Foodbank.

Support people with celiac disease and food allergies in getting access to safe food

About the Celiac Center

The Celiac Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is the first and only adult center in New England specializing in celiac disease and other gluten-related disorders. Our multidisciplinary team includes internationally recognized experts in:

  • Gastroenterology

  • Allergy
  • Bone health
  • Hepatology (liver)
  • Endocrinology (hormones & glands)
  • Dermatology
  • Reproductive medicine (fertility)

Together, we focus on the complications of celiac disease, coordinating state-of-the-art care in diagnostics, treatment and research. Our groundbreaking research explores, among other advances, new, non-dietary treatments.

Gluten-Free Food at BIDMC

Visitors & Outpatients

BIDMC’s east and west campus cafeterias carry a selection of gluten-free foods. Ask for these items at the heated entrees section, or check the snack shelves and refrigerated section.

If you are having an outpatient procedure and need a snack afterward, ask your nurse or a staff member for a gluten-free choice.

BIDMC’s Food Services department offers a varied selection of gluten-free items on our room service menus.
