Belly Dancing as a Recover Strategy

There are probably as many ways to recover from cancer as there are people trying to do so. Some slam the door shut behind them and work hard at just picking up life where they left it. Others feel that their pre-cancer life has been shattered, and that it must be rebuilt brick by brick. Most of us are somewhere in between and look for ways to feel physically and emotionally healthy and strong.

This often is a time of new beginnings as people realize that life is finite and we must all grab it with both hands. Some people commit to a marriage or leave a bad one. Some people decide that they love their work and others choose to make job or professional changes. Some people move. I knew one woman, a dentist, who sold her practice, bought a larger sail boat and literally sailed off into the sunset with the plan to spend her days on the waters of the world.
