En Español (Spanish Version)

Main Page | Risk Factors | Symptoms | Diagnosis | Treatment | Screening | Reducing Your Risk | Talking to Your Doctor | Living With Brain Tumors | Resource Guide

There may be little you can do to avoid primary brain tumors . You cannot change your heredity, which is one of the few known risk factors. Avoiding radiation and toxins is desirable, unless the radiation is used to treat a cancer. While it is difficult to reduce your risk of primary brain tumors, you can reduce your risk of tumors that may spread to the brain, including lung , breast , melanomas , and prostate .
