  • Time to Celebrate Dad

    Sunday is Father's Day, and an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge all the dads in our lives. During one of our new mom's groups this week, someone asked if anyone had a creative idea for a father's day gift. Many responded that they were putting together photo albums or a picture collage, other's making cards with handprints of their baby, all beautiful and thoughtful ideas. Read more... Comments (0)

    Once you've made the decision about what childcare option works best for you and have selected a provider, don't be surprised if you still feel unsure or ambivalent. Many new moms going back to work after maternity leave report feeling overwhelmed with the idea of leaving their baby for long stretches of time with someone they don't know.

    Many new moms returning to work after maternity leave, experience feeling increased anxiety as the return to work date approaches. Even though you may have planned for this reality, researching your options and choosing your daycare provider well in advance, suddenly the reality is here and many women find themselves emotionally just not ready. I often ask the moms who come to the new moms group I lead, if they can specify what it is that they are most concerned about. The response is often the same.     It’s Memorial Day weekend! Though the forecast predicts rain for the Boston area, this weekend still marks the start of the summer season, and no doubt many warm, sunny days to come.
