Schwartstein on "Four Loko"

Richard Schwartzstein, BIDMC's vice president of education and a critical care physician, discussed Four Loko, the new "alcoholic energy drink" in a live interview with WFXT-TV, Channel 25 this morning.
The drink has become controversial because it mixes a stimulant (caffeine) with a depressant (alcohol).
Schwartzstein regularly speaks about the hazards of binge drinking in the aftermath of the emergency department care he provided to Scott Krueger, the MIT student who died from alcohol poisoning in 1997.
