BIDMC's 1000th CyberKnife Patient
Experience means everything to Frank Cleary. When he was diagnosed first with melanoma and then brain tumors, the retired Boston attorney put his life in the hands of the team of skilled veteran doctors and nurses at the Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
His treatment included a leading-edge therapy called CyberKnife that targets cancer cells with sub-millimeter accuracy, minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
BIDMC was the first in New England to offer this incredible new therapy and Frank Cleary became the 1000th patient here to undergo the treatment at the Keith C. Field Cyberknife Center.
