In order to detect diseases such as cancer in vivo, three things are required:
- Targeting ligands to "home" to the sites of disease
- Contrast agents to make the disease "light up"
- Imaging technology, i.e., imaging systems, to detect the presence of the contrast agent
Our laboratory is organized into sections that focus on each of these important tasks.
