"I stumbled upon Dr. Horng and Dr. Nathanson's work as I was searching through the EMRA website looking for informatics electives. I reached out expressing my interest in data visualization, and we quickly arranged for a month-long research elective. During my month, I was exposed to a variety of hot topics in the field of informatics, with thorough exposure to the latest literature. Weekly didactics and talks at BIDMC, DCI, and MIT greatly augmented my experience of the field's breadth. I was given the freedom and mentorship needed to develop my own project looking at ways to incorporate visualization of patient data in the emergency room setting."
