Asghar Naqvi, MD, MPH, MNS, has joined the
Division of General Medicine and Primary Care in the
Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Naqvi received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and completed his residency at the Earl Kemp Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He comes to BIDMC after completing a fellowship in complementary and integrative medical therapies at Harvard Medical School. Naqvi also holds a Masters in Natural Science from Louisiana State University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, and a Masters in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.
Naqvi provides primary care for adults, including motivational interviewing and discussing viable lifestyle modifications tailored to his patient's interests and needs for optimizing health, prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. His research interests involve dietary interventions for chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease, periodontitis and cognitive decline.
