Diversity Executive Council
Who oversees the work of the Office of Multicultural Affairs? We are fortunate to have the guidance and support of the Diversity Executive Council. The Executive Council consists of senior hospital leadership and many of our distinguished diverse faculty members. The group meets quarterly to discuss the work of the OMA and helps to set its goals. The Council also provides invaluable practical advice and plays a key role in implementing many of the OMA's recommendations.
The Diversity Committee was established several years ago by a group of diverse junior faculty, fellows, and house officers to serve as a forum to discuss topics ranging from Boston's rich multicultural social scene to Harvard's byzantine academic environment. Under the new leadership of Dr. Nancy Torres-Finnerty, the Committee will be hosting monthly meetings to discuss an even broader agenda that will address not only these issues but others relevant to younger trainees. Participants can also serve as an informal resource to one another. Whether you're looking for a reliable referral for child care, the best soul food restaurant in Boston, or advice on finding a research mentor, your peers on the Diversity Committee can help!
