BIDMC Families Webpage
Welcome to the BIDMC Families webpage!
Medical training is challenging for doctors and for their loved ones. To help us through this period, a group of volunteers and members of the BIDMC staff have created BIDMC Families, a social network for the spouses and partners of medical interns, residents and fellows.
We have discovered that there are many of us in Boston supporting our spouses and partners through medical training while managing our own personal and professional pursuits. Now, through BIDMC Families, we can connect with others who understand the long hours, ever-changing schedules, and the physical and psychological demands placed on medical trainees, and on us as well.
How BIDMC Families continues to develop is up to its members. We can organize professional networking events, cultural outings, potluck dinners, weekend get-togethers or family activities. For those of us with children, we can arrange playgroups and trips or coordinate seminars around topics such as sleep, health, wellness and work-life integration. We have tremendous resources in our community, and we now have BIDMC Families to help us tap into them.
