Admissions Requirements

SPECT/CT Scanner

Applicants eligible for selection include include individuals who have completed:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
    OR
  • Radiology technology program

In addition to the above criteria, all students must have completed the following college courses and received a "C" or higher in: (completed prior to start of the program)

  • Anatomy and Physiology (1 year)
  • Algebra (or higher)
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Statistics
  • English/Composition

Recommended Courses**:

  • Medical Terminology
  • Computer Literacy
  • Microbiology/Molecular Biology

**Students must demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and computer literacy before the end of the 1st semester in order to progress in the program.

Dose Admin

Acceptance into the program is contingent upon passing a health physical exam and a criminal background check (CORI). In order to meet state and federal regulations, Joint Commission standards, and Infection Control Policy, official documentation of the following immunizations must be provided to the Employee Occupational Health Service prior to your start date at the Medical Center. The required immunizations are the following: Tuberculosis (PPD) test, Rubella (German measles), Rubella (Measles), Mumps, Hepatitis B Vaccine, Tetanus-Diphtheria Booster (recommended), and Varicella.

Application Procedures

Deadlines:

  • Application: Feb. 1 of each year for the September class.

The following must be COMPLETED by the published deadlines to be considered for the class beginning in September of each year:

  1. Completed application (PDF) with application fee of $100.00
  2. An observation is required in a nuclear medicine department in which the applicant should write a one page essay of their observation and why he/she wants to enter the field of nuclear medicine technology.
  3. Official transcript of all post-secondary grades
  4. Two letters of reference (we prefer one from current/previous instructor/professor and one from current/previous employer/volunteer coordinator)
       Note: If you are sending the reference letters in with your application, they must be sealed in an envelope, signed by the reference across the seal.
