Fellowship
One year fellowships are available in the following ACGME-approved specialties:
Selective Pathology (5 positions; three in general surgical pathology; one position in GI pathology under the leadership of Dr. Jeffrey Goldsmith, and one position in Breast Pathology under the leadership of Dr. Stuart Schnitt. Program Director, Dr. James Connolly)
Cytopathology (2 positions. Program Director, Dr. Helen Wang)
Dermatopathology (1 home-based position out of 3; sponsored by BIDMC, within the HMS Combined Dermatopathology Program. Program Director, Dr. Steven Tahan, BIDMC)
Hematopathology (2 positions. Program Director, Dr. German Pihan, BIDMC)
Medical Microbiology (1 position. Program Director, Dr. James Kirby, BIDMC)
Molecular Genetic Pathology (1 rotator's position sponsored by BIDMC, included in the HMS Combined Molecular Genetic Pathology Program. Program Director, Dr. Janina Longtine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital)
Transfusion Medicine (1 rotator's position sponsored by BIDMC, included in the HMS Combined Transfusion Medicine Fellowship. Program Director, Dr. Richard Kaufman, Brigham and Women’s Hospital.)
Neuropathology (1 position, HMS Combined with Brigham and Women's Hospital. Program Director, Dr. Matthew Anderson, BIDMC)
Preference for many of these positions is given to residents who are already in our training program.
