One year fellowships are available in the following ACGME-approved specialties:
Selective Pathology (6 positions; three in general surgical pathology under the leadership of Dr. Cynthia Hayne; one position in GI pathology under the leadership of Dr. Jeffrey Goldsmith; and two positions in breast pathology under the leadership of Dr. Stuart Schnitt. Cytopathology (2 positions. Program Director, Dr. Helen Wang)
Dermatopathology (1 home-based position out of 3; sponsored by BIDMC, within the HMS Combined Dermatopathology Program. Program Director, Dr. Steven Tahan, BIDMC)
Hematopathology (2 positions. Program Director, Dr. German Pihan, BIDMC)
Medical Microbiology (1 position. Program Director, Dr. James Kirby, BIDMC)
Molecular Genetic Pathology (1 rotator's position sponsored by BIDMC, included in the HMS Combined Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship. Program Director, Dr. Janina Longtine, Brigham and Women's Hospital)
Transfusion Medicine (1 rotator's position sponsored by BIDMC, included in the HMS Combined Transfusion Medicine Fellowship. Program Director, Dr. Richard Kaufman, Brigham and Women's Hospital)
Neuropathology (1 position sponsored by BIDMC, included in the HMS Combined Fellowship with Brigham and Women's Hospital. Program Director, Dr. Rebecca Folkerth, Brigham and Women's Hospital)
Preference for many of these positions is given to residents who are already in our training program.
