Clinical Services
The minimally invasive gyncologic surgical specialists include fellowship trained gynecologists as well as a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in minimally invasive approaches. The group provides patient centered care with state of the art equipment. The faculty provide the latest techniques in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including advanced laparoscopic pelvic surgery, incisionless sterilizations, advanced hysteroscopy, vaginal and abdominal surgery, and many other procedures. Minimally invasive hysterectomies, removal of ovaries and ovarian cysts, urologic repairs and sterilizations are some of the many services offered.
Education
A third year resident works with the minimally invasive team in the in-patient operating room as well as in the ambulatory surgical setting. The Program conducts a monthly one-hour MIS simulation workshop, and the directorsasl teach in the resident didactic series on a monthly basis. Twice yearly resident workshop (3 hours) is an intensive simulation experience for all residents in the program. The residents participate in a structured Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Sugery (FLS) program that includes didactic and skills training in laparoscopic techniques. Passing the FLS cognitive and skills examination is a requirement for the program.
