Boston IVF is a full service clinical and academic reproductive endocrine unit, which includes as its primary focus the largest assisted reproductive technology (ART) program in the United States. Since 1986, Boston IVF has assisted in the birth of over 75,000 babies. Boston IVF is the clinical arm of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology for the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Its clinical services include ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Embryo Freezing, Blastocyst Culture, High Implantation Potential embryo selection system, Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD). Surgical procedures performed at Boston IVF include diagnostic and operative endoscopy (laparoscopy/hysteroscopy) for developmental and acquired abnormalities of the reproductive surgery include surgery to correct developmental uterine anomalies, uterine fibroids, and severe endometriosis not amenable to endoscopic surgery.
Boston IVF serves as the clinical site for the training of clinical fellows in Reproductive Endocrinology. Boston IVF is also the clinical site for the BIDMC Obstetrics and Gynecology residents, as well as for many of the third year medical students from Harvard Medical School.
Boston IVF has an extensive clinical and basic science research interest. Current research projects focus on early mammalian embryology and human reproduction using RNA extraction techniques and DNA micro array chip technology to characterize both mouse and human gene expression form the oocyte through the blastocyst. Other areas of research are in the area of oocyte preservation as well as involvement in a stem cell research project in collaboration with researchers at Harvard University.
Boston IVF is based in Waltham, Massachusetts. There are satellite locations in Boston, Quincy, and Maine, with additional monitoring areas in Concord, Cape Cod, Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
