Presentations
Research Day
We celebrate research by residents during Research Day in the Spring. Residents who have done research, educational or service projects during AOC time present their results in a poster session attended by the entire department of medicine, complete with wine, snacks and live jazz.
Four to six of the best projects are chosen for presentation at Medical Grand Rounds. The last two Medical Grand Rounds of the academic year are devoted to these presentations of resident research each year.
Presentations at National Meetings
The Department of Medicine will partner with the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office to support resident travel to present their research at national meetings.
Resident Elective Time for Research
Residents apply for time to spend in an Area of Concentration. At the end of their senior year, they make a presentation of their findings at Resident Research Day. A list of recent research topics reveals the breadth and depth of the interests of our Housestaff.
Publications
The majority of our residents publish research results, case reports, or review articles during their residency, often with faculty mentorship. The publications list is long; we have included a recent sample.
